Diary: New route for lunch and library visit:

~~I use the new route to get to the Blackfoot for lunch; then I have an evening audio mentor session at the “Prow” library.~~

Yesterday I started with a daily entry, but left its writing section still requiring more input, which I intend to add this morning. To make it for lunch I left home to catch the 11am bus to go down town, where I boarded the Redline to take me to Chinook. Here I waited for the new 43-route bus to take me Hotel Blackfoot, where Don was waiting already. The old route 73 was discontinued and I now had to try my new travel plan using the 43 which I needed to get to the Blackfoot.

Don was there because Herman - who arrived shortly - and I had invited him to honour his birthday. It was busy in the lower dining section, but we had a good table and talked and ate for a few hours. Don and I chose the buffet, which is always more interesting than the pad menu. After Don left Herman and I stayed on a bit, making it 3:15pm before I was home!

The operational rules keep changing as everyone is new at this digital lab section in our new library.

A quick snooze and a few crackers made it time for me to take the 3-bus to the down town train for two stops east to get me close to the library. There I wanted to be at 6pm for a digital lab mentor session. Young Daniel was there, but pretended to be busy.

No other mentor could help much with getting me into the sound studio, but I did get some info that will help the next time. The operational rules keep changing as everyone is new at this digital lab section in our new library. Coming Saturday at noon I hope to get some video help.
To night John and I will attend the Grace church CPO Christmas Concert service after our planned dinner nearby at “Bar Bincho”.

Writings: Truth telling styles:

~~I compare the way the four canonical gospel writers introduce the emerging awareness of the ‘divine‘ in humankind.~~

The following is a continuation of yesterday’s writings.
From the writings of 2018-11-27 I repeat:
The truths of the teachings are in the values and not in their historicity.”

Applying this to Luke’s birth of the Christ child story as follows, then the truth in that teaching is the emergence of the awareness of the “divine” into the human consciousness.

The elaborate story that Luke reports, signifies the importance and value of that new awareness for all of humankind; the whole world is involved here. The birth of a new human baby may not be an historical event, but its symbology is clear and conveys the value of this new teaching and Luke’s soaring language ensures that this event will be highly valued, remembered and celebrated for a long time.

We can say then that the style of conveying the teaching of the new truth also reflects on the perceived value of the same and affects the reader’s attitude towards it.

When you check Marc, he starts with Jesus baptism in the river Jordan and Matthew simply reports that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, while John opens with that soaring: ‘The Word was with God and the Word was God …’. Soon after this passage John introduces Jesus as a visitor to John the Baptist who than witnesses ‘Jesus the Son of God‘.

These three evangelists use a much more sober style and therefore have far less impact on the reader. Luke on the other hand leaves the reader with a feeling of being witness to and involved in a happening of world wide importance.

We can say then that the style of conveying the teaching of the new truth also reflects on the perceived value of the same and affects the reader’s attitude towards it. Luke’s style moves and motivates the reader, whereas the other gospel writers aim for a low key and more subtle approach, using an everyday setting to introduce the new awareness that has come to humankind.
